Lieutenant General Kathleen M. Gainey is currently the Director for Logistics, J4, the Joint Staff. As Director for Logistics, General Gainey's duties include driving Joint Force readiness, maximizing the Joint Force Commander's freedom of action, and providing the best logistics advice to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in order to shape the logistics environment.[1] On May 13, 2011, she was nominated by the President of the United States for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commander, United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.[2]
